Picky Pictures is a Swedish production company founded in 2018, dedicated to documentaries. But not just any documentaries – we’re picky like that. Whether short, TV, or feature-length, we create films with strong artistic vision, originality, and storytelling that stands out. We see our filmmakers as visionaries, valuing their unique voices and bold ideas. Our films have been screened at festivals, on TV, and in cinemas, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers.

We follow our projects through the entire journey – from development to distribution – ensuring they reach the right viewers with a carefully crafted strategy. With a strong network of cinemas and screening partners, we bring our films to theaters with well-planned local outreach. For selected productions, we also handle cinema distribution, organizing nationwide tours for films.

Our approach goes beyond filmmaking. We believe in symbiotic production where film collaborates with other art forms – books, exhibitions, and theater – to expand its reach and impact. By co-financing research and early production stages, we create sustainable models that help our films find broader audiences.
